Brief biographical sketch of Dr.Ramesh

Dr. Ramesh Teegala received his MBBS and Master of Surgery (General Surgery) Degrees form Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, VARANASI, one of the premium medical institutions of INDIA. He then completed his Neurosurgical residency (MCh) from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. After obtaining his MCh degree, he worked as senior research fellow at AIIMS and subsequently joined as an Assistant professor of Neurosurgery at Amrita Institute of Medical sciences (AIMS), Kochi.

During this period he mainly concentrated on complex spine, neuronavigation and skull base surgeries. Later he established a neurosurgical department at ASRAM medical college, ELURU. During last 30 months he operated more than 500 cases with almost negligible mortality. His main areas of interest are key hole brain & spine surgeries and functional neurosurgery. He has multiple international fellowships from places like Germany and Slovenia to acquire additional skills in modern neurosurgery fields like Neuroendoscopy and complex skull base surgery. He is the first Indian neurosurgeon to receive the Sonnetag international fellowship. He finished his fellowship training from UCSF, USA under the directorship of Dr. Praveen V. Mummaneni, one of the worlds best key hole spine surgeon. During last 4 years as an independent neurosurgeon, he has operated nearly 1000 neurosurgical procedures and presented at many national and international conferences. He has10 national and international publications to his credit.
