Mica is a general term used to classify a group of minerals, not just one type, as people often think. Unfortunately, the mica mining process is a difficult and dangerous one; methods have not changed much in hundreds of years. However, as technology continues to advance, the hope is that the retrieval of this mineral will advance as well.
